Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy expressed anguish over performing of child marriages in ST community. He asked teachers to create awareness on preventing child marriages in ST families. The Minister participated in Nava Nirmana Deeksha held at Kasturba Kalakshetram here on Tuesday.
Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy expressed anguish over performing of child marriages in ST community. He asked teachers to create awareness on preventing child marriages in ST families. The Minister participated in Nava Nirmana Deeksha held at Kasturba Kalakshetram here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Somireddy said that teachers have to provide quality education to students in the schools.

He also said that government authorities have to create awareness on welfare schemes to the people without confining to their department related activity. Thereby the government schemes would easily reach to the poor for their progress, he added. Somireddy also said that doctors have to ensure quality treatment to the patients in the government hospitals.
The Minister informed that the government had allocated Rs 450 crore for micro irrigation in the state and also explained that they are going to distribute 7,000 tractors to the farmers in the coming days. The Minister also said that the government has been allocating additional funds to the education, medical and health, agriculture and power sectors.
City Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz said that the government had focused on creating employment to the jobless. “State government has been wooing industries to the state to provide better employment to the local youth,” he said. District Library Chairman K Venkataswamy Naidu, NUDA Chairman K Srinivasulu Reddy, DEO M Ramalingam, Corporation Commissioner S Dilli Rao, former legislator M Sridhara Krishna Reddy and others were present.
