Amaravati: Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu directed the planning board officials to prepare estimations for seven backward districts, while taking into consideration the factual situation based on newly-established industries and asked to assess the State Gross Domestic Product (GSDP).

The planning board review meeting was held at Secretariat in Velagapudi on Tuesday. It was chaired by finance minister and the meeting discussed about the funds allocated to the 7 backward districts, their utilisation, special development funds, programmes taken up during the Nava Nirmana Deeksha, works taken up under MP LADS funds, ideal villages, works in the wards, Vision 2029, rainfall details, implementation of Key Development Index, farming situation and other issues.

The officials said that the planning board has taken up 20,839 works in the seven backward districts for which Rs 1,475 crore was allocated from the state development funds. They said as many 10,838 works were completed and about Rs 646 crore was spent till now.

AP Planning Board deputy chairman C Kutumba Rao, AP State Development Planning Society CEO Sanjay Gupta, Economic Development Board advisor Dakshinamurthy and others were present.
