After releasing a book with the details of development works worth Rs 1,500 crore taken up in the Darsi Assembly constituency, Minister for Environment and Forests Sidda Raghava Rao said that the Chief Minister was working hard for the welfare of the farmers. After the loan waiver, pensions and funds for DWCRA women, he is now committed to the completion of Polavaram and Veligonda projects at any cost.

The Minister said that with this spirit, the Chief Minister has initiated steps to link Amaravati to Anantapur with a six-lane expressway at a cost of Rs 30,000 crore. He said that the Chief minister helped him in mobilising Rs 1500 crore from various departments even though the state was suffering from a deficit of Rs 16,500 crore in the budget for the first year.

He said that the Darsi Assembly constituency, once one of the most backward constituencies in the state, witnessed tremendous development in these three years. An amount of Rs 1,500 crore was spent for the development of the constituency and another Rs 200 crore works were going on, he added.

During the three years, works of the international driving school, fire station, Chandavaram, Botlapalem bridges, setting up of residential schools, addressing the drinking water problem in almost all villages were taken up. Several companies were getting ready to set up shops here, he added.

Ongole MLA and district TDP president Damacharla Janardhan said that Chandrababu Naidu ordered all party leaders to conduct district-level coordination meetings in each constituency in the district every month.

Minister for Civil Supplies Paritala Sunitha challenged the YSR Congress Party leaders to come out for an open debate on the details of the development works. “It is the correct method that all the Ministers and MLAs should list out the works taken up by us and explain them to the people in a book”, she said.

TDP national vice-president Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, state vice-president Karanam Balaram, MP Sriram Malyadri, district president Damacharla Janardhan, MLC Pothula Sunitha, MLAs Amanchi Krishna Mohan, Dola Balaveeranjaneya Swami, Palaparti David Raju, Eluri Sambasivarao, Muthumula Ashok Reddy, Kadiri Babu Rao, Pothula Rama Rao, SC Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar and others were present.
