Visakhapatnam: A housewife belonging to minority community lodged a complaint against Anakapalle MLA Peela Govind Satyanarayana and his followers to the Commissioner of Police stating that they were being harassed and being forced to sell them the house, located in Pendurthi area of the city.

In her complaint Sheik Adambi said she has been doing wholesale biscuits and chocolates business under a firm Heera Agency. As she need money to expand her business, she borrowed Rs 2 lakh from a private financier Ramana for six per cent interest in 2015. Subsequently, she borrowed another five lakh.

But she could not pay the interest after demonetisation in November last year. So far she paid Rs 6 lakh towards interest alone.

She told him that she was not in a position to pay the interest of principle amount but pay Rs 5 lakh as single settlement after selling her house. Ramana turned down her offer and making all efforts to grab her house which is worth Rs 25 lakh in the market.

On Thursday, Ramana and his gang members barged into her house and took Sheik Adambi, her daughter Sheik Afroze and elder brother Sheik Mohammed to MLA’s house in Pendurthi.

They were confined in a room for several hours. The MLA, Ramana and Dr Shankar Rao abused them in a filthy language and behaved in an indecent manner. They also threatened to kill them and occupy their house.

However, the MLA denied all the allegations and said both the parties came to him with their representations and he told them to settle amicably. “As a peoples’ representative, I have to stand by the laws,” the MLA said.
