Guntur: Former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari lauded the Kannan Rangaiah Charitable Trust for distributing scholarships to the meritorious students among the poor and for organising social service activities.

Addressing a meeting at the Guntur Convention Centre in the city on the occasion of distribution of scholarships by Kanna Rangaiah Charitable Trust on Sunday, she urged the NGOs to do service to the society.

She said that she was very happy to distribute the scholarships to the students. Kanna Rangaiah Charitable Trust chairman and former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana explained the activities of the trust. He said that the aim of the charitable trust is to extend a helping hand to the meritorious students among the poor and the downtrodden.

Later, Purandeswari and Kanna Lakshminarayana felicitated Dr P Raghava Sharma, former principal of TJPS College Radha Bai and former MLA Gudibanda Venkata Reddy for their services in various fields. District BJP president Nallabotu Venkata Rao, city president Ammisetty Anjaneyulu and others participated.
