It was a new tradition the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was following, since bifurcation of the state by conducting the celebrations at different places each year.

Speaking at a programme to distribute TVs to Anganwadi schools in Tirupati on Friday, the minister maintained that the Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar held a meeting and allocated the works. “As in-charge minister to the district, I will also be in touch with the official machinery and every step will be taken to make the function a grand success,” he added.

Distributing televisions worth Rs.10 lakhs to Anganwadi centres donated by the local MLA M Suguna, Atchannaidu stated that the salaries for Anganwadi workers have been increased by the government despite the financial difficulties. “The pre- schools development is a revolutionary change and government schools are going in the right direction and can compete with the private schools,” he stated.
