Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand he said High Courts here were set up at various places. So taking those places into consideration, government needs to be set up the High Court at Rayalaseema. He was addressing a conference organised by Jana Chaitanya Vedika on Sunday here at Kurnool.
Expressing deep concern about the injustice being done to Rayalaseema, Krishna Rao said developments are not taking place according to Sri Bagh pact and Siva Rama Krishnan committee representations. He asked the people of Rayalaseema as to why they were not raising their voice for a High Court here.
He further said, the state government has urged the Union government to allocate 10000 acres of forest land for the construction of capital city Amaravati and in turn a substitute land would be given to forest department at Kadapa and Anantapur.
He strongly condemned the attitude of state government. He further demanded the government to strive for Hyderabad-Bengaluru industrial corridor and said to declare all mandals of Anantapur as drought hit for a period of 10 years.
He urged the government to set up a tomato processing unit besides setting up of skill development centers at engineering colleges.
Jana Chaitanya Vedika State President, V Lakshman Reddy said Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu has neglected the developments at Rayalaseema. In these three and half years of rule Naidu did nothing for Rayalaseema, he lamented. He demanded Amaravati to be made as free zone so that everyone can utilise the employment opportunities.
Rayalaseema Saaguneeti Samithi President, Bojja Dasaratha Rami Reddy said in Rayalaseema 1.70 crore lakh acres of land is being irrigated but water is being extended to only 10 lakhs acres. He demanded the government to complete the irrigation projects, Siddeswaram and Gudrerevula irrigation projects.
