Visakhapatnam: At a function organised as part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations, 'Best in Academics Trophy' was awarded to Navy Children School (NCS), Visakhapatnam, for outstanding performance in Class X and XII examinations in 2016-17 academic year, on Wednesday.

Principal of NCS Parul Kumar received the trophy on behalf of the school from Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Vice-Admiral HCS Bisht. Constituted in the academic year 2009-10, the trophy is awarded to the best performing school in X and XII board examinations among 13 CBSE affiliated schools under the aegis of the ENC, including Sainik Schools, Korukonda and Bhubaneswar.

Acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the teachers, Vice- Admiral Bisht said that the best investment that the nation makes in development of its human capital and nation building is that on the teachers. He emphasised that a teacher's function was to be the torch bearer and pivot of any educational system.

Bisht said.
