According to sources, the Higher Education department held the executive council meeting with officials of JNTU Kakinada, Anantapur and SrikrishnaDevaraya University. Besides, there was another meeting on biometric system was also conducted.
Snacks were supplied in the meetings in which senior officials participated. The participants dumped the paper plates on a heap of framed photographs. One of the photographs was that of the Chief Minister’s.

A senior official of AP Higher Education Department (APSCHE) told The Hans India that the incident did not take place intentionally. “I think, no one observed Chief Minister’s photo as the framed photos were heaped on one another in a corner of the meeting hall. Participants might have put the used plates in a corner but not on Chief Minister’s photograph. They might not have noticed it”, he said.

A source in the minister’s peshi said there was no clarity in which meeting the incident took place as two were conducted in the conference hall on Monday.

However, Ganta Srinivasa Rao was serious over incident and directed the Commissioner of Intermediate Education to conduct enquiry and submit report on the incident. The Minister also spoke with special chief secretary Adityanath Das. Ganta warned action over the employees who were responsible for the incident.
