During the Sridevi Sarannavaratra Mahotsavams here on Wednesday, Goddess Bhramaramba was offered ‘chakrachana’, ‘navararchana’, ‘mahanyasapurvaka ekadasa’, ‘rudra bhishekam’, ‘rudra homam’, ‘rudrayaganga japam’ and ‘parayanalu’. The goddess appeared in Kalaratri Avataram to the devotees. She was offered special poojas in the temple while being decorated in ‘Akkamahadevi Alankaram’.

Priests conducted rituals like ‘navagraha mandaparadhanulu’, ‘navagraha japanushtanamulu’, ‘panchakshari’, ‘bramari’, ‘balaanushtanamulu,’, ‘chandiparayan’, ‘chaturvedaparayan’, ‘suryanamaskarm’, ‘kumara pooja’, ‘madyankalarchana’, ‘sahasranamarchana’. In the evening, they organised ‘japam’, ‘anushtanamulu’, ‘navararchana’, ‘kunkumarchana’, ‘chandi homam’, ‘rudra homam, ‘suhasini pooja’ and ‘kalaratri pooja’.

The devasthanam, as part of its efforts to sustain traditional arts, during ‘gramotsavam’ organised ‘nadaswaram’, ‘chanda Kerala dolu vinyasalu’, ‘kolatam’, ‘chakka bajana’, ‘beerappa dolu’, ‘pagati veshalu’, ‘rajabhatulu’, ‘batta bommalu’, ‘veeragasi’, ‘aswapradarsana’, ‘talam’, ‘ghanta’, ‘sankham’, ‘tappet chindu’, ‘Karnataka dolu vinyasalu’,’gorava nrutyam’.
On September 28, several cultural programmes are to be conducted near the Pushkarini at 6.30 pm, said Srisailam Temple EO Bharath Guptha.

They include ‘pravachanam’ on Devi Bhagavatam by prominent poet-pandit Dr Sivalenka Prakasa Rao of Kakinada, Kuchipudi dance by Dr Chinta Ravi Balakrishna of Krishna district and ‘gatra kacheri’ by T Eswaran Battatri of Chennai. The ‘gatra kacheri’ and ‘Kuchipudi’ performances are being organised in coordination with the Southern States Cultural Council.

E Prabhakar Reddy of Hyderabad on Wednesday donated to Sri Ankalamma Ammavaru ‘makara thoranam, ‘muka kavacham’ and ‘hasthalu’. As many as 66.5 gm of gold and ten kg copper was used for the ‘kavchalu’, while spending Rs3 lakh, he announced. The deity was adorned with ‘bangaru kavachalu’.
