Nellore: Ruling Telugu Desam Party had given fillip to cadre this time with due priority for all groups by inducting them into politburo, the highest body of the party, keeping in view of the upcoming elections. The equilibrium is expected to give a boost for the party for their efforts which has been facing hullabaloo every time. Nellore district has been given adequate priority considering representation from all groups with their presence in the politburo.
Highlights:
- Anam appointed as TDP general secretary, Tallapaka Anuradha as vice-president, and Desaisetty Hanumantha as state organising secretary
- Party high command gave a chance to displeased groups for making them active in next elections
Not only Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, former Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, former municipal chairperson T Anuradha, former MP N Subrahmanyam, senior leaders D Hanumantha Rao and Ch Vijayakumar Reddy were also included in the politburo. Party said to have considered the six-member team from the senior leaders of the party, newly joined ones and also others who have been working for a long time.
Place for Minister Somireddy has been expected as usual and this time Anam group was also considered carefully since both Ramanarayana Reddy and Vivekananda Reddy were seemingly inactive in party activities after they had shifted their loyalties from Congress.
The reason was simple as both Anam brothers are expected to play an active role in the party but the senior leaders who had opposed their entry strongly resisted them that they would dominate in the areas. Showing the same reason, they also confined themselves to limited party meetings.
At one point of time, former MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy also expressed his dissatisfaction over negligence of the party and leaders. Ramanarayana Reddy was also confined to Atmakur constituency giving no priority for district-level activities expressing their unhappiness over the treatment.
Now, Ramanarayana Reddy has been appointed as general secretary of the party which made the group ecstatic over the new position and strong significance in the party. So, party sources expect fullest involvement of the group in the party activities hereafter.
Tallapaka Ramesh Reddy, who once served as Minister in the TDP’s regime earlier has been given importance by giving place for his wife Anuradha as party vice-president. So, party finally managed to satisfy this group who were with the party for some decades since the inception.
Desaisetty Hanumantha Rao, a senior leader from the party, was appointed as state organising secretary once again. Party high-command also considered representation from Sullurpet inducting former MP Nelavala Subrahmanyam and Chevuri Vijayakumar Reddy from Gudur areas.
“This is a good combination and still some more seniors to be respected with certain positions. Internal rivalries between leaders has been continued and it witnessed in a recent coordination committee meeting of the civic body. They have to be resolved,” said a senior leader in the party.
Further, there were huge speculations that party senior leader and former legislator Beeda Mastan Rao would preferred for the TTD chairman post but it has been announced to Putta Sudhakar Yadav from Mydukuru on Thursday which would impact the politics in the district, he added.
