Hyderabad: Favourable conditions are likely to develop for further withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon from some more parts of Andhra Pradesh during the next two to three days, the Met department bulletin said. During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Sunday, the Southwest Monsoon was weak over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.

Isolated rain occurred in both regions of the State. There was two cm of rain in Srungavarapukota (Vizianagaram district and one cm in Parvathipuram. The forecast said light to moderate rain/thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places in both coastal and Rayalaseema districts from October 23 to 26. Dry weather is likely to prevail over Rayalaseema on October 24. No large change during the subsequent three days is the weather outlook.

Meanwhile, during the week ending on October 18, the rainfall was ‘large excess’ in Anantapur, Chittoor, Kadapa, Kurnool districts and ‘normal’ in Guntur, Krishna, Nellore. It was ‘deficient’ in East Godavari, Prakasam, Vishakhapatnam and West Godavari and ‘large deficient’ in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts, according to statistics provided by the department.
