Rajamahendravaram: Godavari Urban Development Authority (Guda) chairman Ganni Krishna said that a master plan for Guda will be prepared in one year with all details relating to the towns and villages that fall under the purview of Guda.

Satellite images will be used to prepare the master plan. The government gave its nod to master plan of Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation and draft plan for Kakinada Municipal Corporation has already been prepared.

Inaugurating Guda zonal office and chairman camp office on the premises of municipal corporation office here on Wednesday, Ganni Krishna said that after inviting objections to the draft master plan from public a final plan will be prepared and sent for government's approval.

Guda aims to develop necessary infrastructure in rural areas as part of urbanisation. Along with Guda, three urban development authorities were constituted in the state.

Gram panchayats were allowed to give permission for constructing houses if the site is below than 300 square metre and for the plots more than 300 sq metre, Guda would give permission and in urban areas Guda sanctions permission for buildings coming up in more than 1,000 square metre. For sites below 1,000 sq metre, the municipal corporations and municipalities concerned would approve plans.

Guda started giving approvals to layouts and houses using its new software. Ganni Krishna said 290 villages in 26 mandals, Samalkot, Peddapuram, Gollaprolu municipalities along with Rajamahendravaram and Kakinada Municipal Corporations in an area of 2,144 sq km come under the jurisdiction of Guda.

Zonal office was established in Rajamahendravaram for the benefit of the people as head office was located in Kakinada. Rajamahendravaram deputy mayor V Rambabu, Guda in-chage secretary Ch Saibabu and others were present.
