Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the government has plans to turn waste collected from households in villages and turn into compost to give back to people when necessary. He said this project will be completed by 2019. He addressed Janmabhoomi programme in Kodurupadu village of Nellore rural mandal on Saturday.

He said hygiene plays a significant role in village atmosphere as his government has been promoting healthy environs in rural areas.
The government has already started converting waste in to energy in urban areas and 10 power plants based on solid waste are now working. Dry, wet and plastic waste will be segregated and still there will be piled up garbage in villages giving nightmarish experience to the dwellers. They will chalk out plans for proper disposal of dung in rural areas.
Chief Minister took the role of a teacher while campaigning on hygienic conditions in rural set up. The new project is aimed at collection of waste and converting it into useful compost for the farmers. He reiterated that they would make the entire State Open Defecation Free by end of March this year.
The Chief Minister said focus of the state government is to improve infrastructure both in rural and urban areas and hence they had given priority for ports, airports, water transport, cyber grid, road and many others for excellent connectivity that gives scope for overall development of the areas. The government promoted alternative power production in the State encouraging solar, wind power and the huge solar park with 1,000 mw power capacity in around 5,000 acres is coming up at Orvakal in Kurnool district shortly.
He also said they had given priority for under ground drainage system even for rural areas on par with urban agglomerations where volume of population exceeds 5,000. Water connection taps will be provided to all households with Rs 25,000 crore. He reiterated river, tank linkage for supporting agriculture and drinking water needs.
He directed the officials of police department to provide safety and security to the girls and women and said no one should be spared in case of severe crimes.
Naidu assured 2,000 houses for urban areas in the district, ORR for Nellore city, connecting roads to Kodurupadu. He appreciated efforts of Padugupadu Anganwadi Centre where small kids showcased their talent in quiz conducted by the Chief Minister. He announced an incentive of Rs. 25,000 to the teacher and Rs. 20 lakh for the centre.
Further, students from Nellore city, and other government schools even from 80-90 km of distance were also shifted to the 3-hour meeting by buses which attracted criticism from the teachers who faced lot of troubles to manage them. Majority participants were students and anganwadi staff.
