Rebuked over extramarital affair; couple ends life
In a tragic incident, duo committed suicide by consuming pesticide-laced drink after they were ill-treated by villagers on Monday. The deceased were identified as Kadapa Srinivas (41) and Koneru Lakshmi Devi (35) of Kotha Singanamala village in Pullampet mandal.

According to Pullampet Siva Prasad, K Srinivas, who was having a son and two daughters, had developed an extra martial affair with Lakshmi Devi of same village few months ago.
Lakshmi Devi also having two daughters. One month ago, both of them left the village after their illicit affair was exposed. However, duo returned to their village on Sunday and they were insulted by the villagers in the presence of their family members.
They took extreme step and their bodies were found lying in a farm field on Monday. Passersby, who have noticed them, alerted the villagers. They were immediately shifted to the Rajampet Government Hospital.
Lakshmi Devi had died on the way to hospital while Srinivas is undergoing treatment in the hospital. A case has been registered by
Pullampet police.
