Amaravati: The State government has given its nod for formation of AP Content Corporation as a subsidiary of AP State FiberNet Limited. The government also constituted Board of Directors for Corporation.

Principal Secretary to Energy, I&I and CRDA Ajay Jain said the government decided to set up the Content Corporation as the content was the basic amenity which was useful to everyone to investigate further in respective activity or area and was the only way through which knowledge or awareness would be spread over to all the communities of public.

The content may be available in the form of books, journals, magazines, websites, patents, IPR, documents or any other sources and is essential in carrying out the research in many disciplines. The content may not be restricted to science and technology, governance, education, constitution, broadcasting, social reforms, economics and politics, he added.

Ajay Jain said Andhra Pradesh has lot of content scattered at different places in different medium which is not known to many. Most youngsters are not aware of schemes/programmes launched by the state or country. “So, there is a need to collect and consolidate the content of such schemes under single body which can disseminate the information and ensure maximum reach,” he said.
