Srikakulam: Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy vented his ire at Integrated Child Development Society (ICDS) officials and staff for their negligence in their duties.

He convened a meeting with the officials of medical, ICDS and District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) for better implementation of health schemes for women and child here on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector expressed concern over apathy of ICDS mandal and village level officials for not maintaining proper records, poor observation on pregnant women, lactating mothers and children.

Collector warned Kotturu and Sitampeta officials over delay in distribution of ‘Balamrutham’ packets to children and lactating mothers.

The Collector announced appointment of three vigilance teams for three revenue divisions in the district each headed by district level officers for close monitoring of ICDS activities.

Basing on reports of vigilance teams, course of action would be initiated by following procedure, the Collector warned.

He directed the district level officers of medical, ICDS and DRDA to achieve coordination between Aasha workers, Anganwadis, health assistants, self-help group women at village-level to achieve better results.

DRDA project director GC Kishore Kumar, district medical and health officer Dr Sanapala Tirupati Rao, district coordinator for health services B Surya Rao, ICDS project director M Roja Rani medical officers and ICDS officials were present.
