Vijayawada: “According to the population of Andhra Pradesh, there should be about 625 food safety officials. But there are only 30 food safety officials struggling to serve the state,” said Consumer Rights Organisation (CRO) State president Vikas Pande.
Addressing the media here on Monday, Vikas said that for every 50,000 population there should be one food safety officer. The government miserably failed to provide quality food, education and health care to the people of the state,he added. The government was treating the population as vote bank rather than human beings.
He alleged that the government was supplying essential commodities free to the BPL families. At the same time it was stabbing in the back of the middle class and upper middle class families by increasing the prices of essential commodities and gaining the credit of supplying essentials to the poor free.
Vikas criticised opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy and Jena Sena chief Pawan Kalyan for not questioning the government to provide quality food, education and health care.
CRO secretary BSN Murthy said all the customers should know their rights to question the government and fight for their rights. He blamed the ruling party for poor State of the present education system in the State.
District convener Bejawada Nagarajuna, State organising secretary Morphin Perera and others were present.
