Vijayawada: The Krishna district veterinary department is planning to administer about 3,000 anti-rabies injections to dogs at various places in the district to mark World Zoonoses Day on July 6.
According to Dr V Surya Kumar, Joint Director, Veterinary Department free anti-rabies injections would be given to dogs at all the 25 mandal-level Veterinary Hospitals in the district including Multi Specialty Veterinary Hospital at Gudivada and at NTR Veterinary Super Specialty Hospital, Labbipet, Vijayawada.
Dr Surya Kumar said that Zoonoses Day was celebrated across the world as Louis Pasteur injected anti-rabies vaccine to a boy on July 6, 1885.
