Pithapuram: The additional director of the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) Rajendra Prasad directed the officials to complete the identification and enumeration of street vendors in all municipalities.
He held a meeting with the staff of MEPMA, here at municipal office on Friday. Speaking to the media, he said the survey was conducted in 2014-16 and identified 65, 000 street vendors across the state and 3760 in the district. He said identity cards will be issued to them and credit facility also be extended.
Later he inspected the business units set up by the self-help groups in the town. expressing satisfaction over the activity, he suggested them to improve marketing avenues. Municipal Commissioner M Rammohan, TE G Bhramarambha, COs ADM Sailaja, CH Malleswari accompanied him.
