Minister launches Anna Canteen

Anantapur: Minister for ICDS and Women and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha has formally launched the 'Anna Canteen' on the Bellary Road here on Sunday. MLC Samanthakamani and Commissioner Murthy and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sunitha said that seven more canteens would be opened in the city soon. The canteens are aimed at supplying breakfast, lunch and dinner at highly subsidised rates to the poor and construction labourers and those working as casual labourers. At the canteens, each beneficiary will get breakfast and rice etc for just Rs.5 each.
She said that ministers Narayana and Pulla Rao and herself went to Chennai to observe the functioning of 'Amma Canteens' there and submitted a report to AP government. Based on the feed back, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched the Anna Canteens in Vijayawada,
MLC Samanthakamani also spoke praising the Chief Minister for launching the scheme to benefit the poorest of the poor.
