Drunk man hacks son to death
Jambanna, who was addicted to alcohol and other vices, had been subjecting his wife to torture demanding money On Sunday night, Jambanna as usual picked up a quarrel with his wife in an inebriated condition
Kurnool: A man hacked his 22-year-old son in an inebriated condition following a tiff at Koritamaddi village in Gadivemula mandal on Sunday night. According to Panyam circle inspector D Pardhasaradhi Reddy, Jambanna along with his five members of family was living in the village. Members of Budaga Jangalu caste, they eke out a living by begging.
Jambanna, who was addicted to alcohol and other vices, had been subjecting his wife to torture demanding money. On Sunday night, Jambanna as usual picked up a quarrel with his wife in an inebriated condition.
On hearing the commotion, his son Peddanna woke up and tried to stop his father from attacking his mother. Infuriated over this, Jambanna attacked his son with an axe, causing grievous injuries. Peddanna succumbed to injuries on the spot.
Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Nandyal general hospital for autopsy. The CI said a case had been registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by Peddanna’s mother and investigation is on. A search is on to nab Jambanna who fled the scene after committing the crime.
