Amaravati: AP government is drawing plans to encourage private industrialists in the capital city Amaravati in order to create wealth and employment.

The private players involvement in the development of capital will help in building world-class city, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at a review meeting on the progress of CRDA works on Wednesday.

The officials had a discussion to bring a policy on it. The policy will help in inviting corporate companies in constructing affordable housing, commercial complexes, business and IT parks, environment and tourist parks, industrial infrastructure building, financial and other social infrastructure, officials informed.

Chandrababu Naidu said that capital Amaravati should have mixed economic activity with tourism, IT parks and employment opportunities to provide value addition to the city.

He asked officials to create an eco-system and prepare a draft policy to attract private participation in capital development. The officials informed the Chief Minister on land lease system, joint venture, joint development and Private and Public Partnership (PPP) project options.

They said they are formulating the private partnership policy with the offers provided by noted private companies including DLF, Sobha, Prestige, Myhome, Shapoorji Pallonji, Aparna, Radian, S Urban, GVK, RMZ and NSL. The Chief Minister asked the officials to prepare a policy to make Amaravati as a hub of mixed economic activity.

The Chief Minister said the projects should be technically sound and meet international standards. He said students should be involved in structural designs of Amaravati and they should be asked to come up with innovative ideas.

The officials explained to the Chief Minister on world-class integrated industrial park proposals and added that the Mahindra Group came forward to develop industrial park in Amaravati.

They also discussed with the Chief Minister on pooling funds to the tune of Rs 26,000 crore for taking up several projects in Amaravati and mooted floating of bonds. When the officials suggested uprooting of some trees for laying high tension lines, Chief Minister advised them to transplant the trees instead of cutting the trees.

The Chief Minister directed the officials not to compromise on elevated highways. The officials informed the Chief Minister over the proposals of Chinmaya Mission, DAV and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan to set up schools in Amaravati.

Minister for Municipal Administration P Narayana, Special Chief Secretary Satish Chandra, Principal Secretary Sai Prasad, CRDA Principal Secretary Ajay Jain, Amaravati Development Corporation CMD Lakshmi Parthasaradhi and CRDA Commissioner Ch Sridhar were present.
