Vijayawada: The police conducted a raid on Olive Tree Hotel at Bhavanipuram in the city and arrested 50 men and five women, including anchors and event organisers here on Wednesday night. On a tip-off, that the management of hotel was organising obscene dances on the hotel premises, police raided the hotel and arrested men and women.
According to sources, the event was organised by the key follower of a ruling party leader. Private event organisers, anchors and others from Hyderabad were arrested in the raid and five anchors and the kin of ruling party leader fled the scene.
Out of the arrested 10 were sent to One Town Police Station, 15 were sent to Bhavanipuram Police Station, 10 were sent to Ibrahimpatnam Police Station and the rest were sent to Governorpet Police Station.
The five women were handed over to Vasavya Mahila Mandali. The arrested women were from Hyderabad, Bhimavaram and Vijayawada. According to reports, rave parties were being organised regularly at the hotel. A huge quantity of liquor and condom packets were found on the hotel premises.
