Visakhapatnam: The AITUC, INTUC and CITU activists took out a rally from LIC building to Dabagardens Junction here on Thursday after Union Minister for Transport and Shipping Nitin Gadkari ruled out privatisation DCI recently during his visit to the city.

On the occasion, they recalled the sacrifice made by N Venkatesh (29) who had worked in HR department at DCI and resident of Vizianagaram district. It may be recalled that Venkatesh body was found near railway track at Nellimarla in Vizianagaram district on December 4, 2017 with a suicide note purportedly written by him stating that he had resorted to the extreme step in protest against the move of the Union government to privatise the DCI.

The trade union leaders stated that the announcement made by the Union Minister on behalf of the Central government is the victory of all trade unions and Left parties who fought against DCI privatisation.
