Guntur: The urban police arrested two inter-state thieves involved in several theft cases and recovered gold and silver ornaments, four laptops, cell phones and an auto-rickshaw valued at Rs 7 lakh from their possession in the city on Monday.
According to Urban SP Ch Vijaya Rao, the accused Saidapet Rami Reddy and his brother Siva Reddy were involved in nine jewellery theft cases in Guntur, Prakasam and Chittoor districts. They broke the house locks and entered the houses and decamp with the jewellery.
Based on the information, the police caught the accused while they were going by auto-rickshaw at Nallapadu police station in the city. During investigation, they admitted their crimes.
