Collector PS Pradyumna tells doctors to observe restraint
District Collector PS Pradyumna has asked the junior doctors and government doctors to observe restraint till Special Investigation Team SIT completes its enquiry over Dr Shilpas suicide and submit the report to the government

Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna has asked the junior doctors and government doctors to observe restraint till Special Investigation Team (SIT) completes its enquiry over Dr Shilpa’s suicide and submit the report to the government.
He visited the Ruia Hospital on Saturday evening and inspected the medical services being extended in an Emergency Ward.
Later, he held a meeting with the representatives of the Andhra Pradesh Government Doctors Association (APGDA) and Junior Doctors Association (JUDA) in the chambers of Ruia Superintendent.
He told them that the government took note of the issue seriously and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked the CID officials to complete the enquiry in quick time.
He said, during the enquiry the truth would come out and government would take appropriate action based on the facts.
The Collector said that both APGDA and JUDA have been demanding for justice to Dr Shilpa and culprits should be punished.
The death of Dr Shilpa was very unfortunate, and the government has responded immediately and appointed a committee-led by DME following which some decisions have been taken, he stated.
As the death was happened, the Collector mentioned that there was a necessity to take some actions like suspensions etc., which are very natural to pacify agitating students and on humanitarian grounds.
Simultaneously cases have been filed and even SC, ST Atrocities Act was filed on two professors. At the same time, though there were demands for the arrest of the accused it was not done.
He urged the doctors and junior doctors to concentrate on patient care as Ruia gets its patients from the neighbouring districts also.
For everyone, patient care should be utmost priority now. With the SIT enquiry, all apprehensions and doubts will find answers, Collector said. All these actions taken so far were aimed at creating confidence on Shilpa’s family members and the student fraternity.
To avoid such incidents in future steps would be taken to appoint committees in all educational institutions and even in government offices to deal with such type of complaints, he assured.
Ruia Superintendent Dr B Sidda Naik, SVMC Principal Dr G Ravi Prabhu, RMO Dr U Srihari, Maternity Hospital in-charge Superintendent Dr Bharathi, JUDA leaders’ Dr M Venkata Ramana, Dr GC Lavanya, Dr S Sudharshan, Dr S Gururaja Chowdary and other doctors have participated in the discussions.
