AP Govt to develop 5,000 crematoriums in state

Guntur: Minister for IT and panchayat raj Nara Lokesh said that the government would develop crematoriums in all major gram panchayats in the state. He inaugurated Koritepadu Muslim burial ground which was developed by Phoenix Foundation and Chukkapalli Sankara Rao Charitable Trust in Guntur city on Monday.

Speaking on this occasion, the minister said that the state government had developed 1,107 crematoriums during the last four years at a cost of Rs 183 crore to provide better facilities and added that another 5,000 crematoriums would be spruced up soon .

Lokesh said the TDP government had developed infrastructure and laid cement roads in the villages after it came to power. “Permanent buildings have been constructed for anganwadi centres, gram panchayats and cement roads were laid in villages.

Apart from them, the government is developing crematoriums too,” the minister said. He added that minister for civil supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao was developing crematoriums in Chilakaluripet and Assembly Speaker Dr.Kodela Siva Prasada Rao was developing crematoriums in Sattenapalli and Narasaraopet Assembly constituencies. He appreciated Chukkapalli Sankara Rao Charitable Trust for developing crematorium in Guntur city.

Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao said that firs they had developed crematoriums in Narasaraopet and Sattenapalli Assembly constituencies. He said that the TDP government was giving top priority for development of infrastructure and developing crematoriums.

Ministers Prathipati Pulla Rao, Nakka Ananda Babu, MLAs G V Anjaneyulu, Modugula Venugopala Reddy, district collector Kona Sasidhar were among those participated.
