Vijayawada: A logo and a video depicting the activities of Vasavya Mahila Mandali (VMM) for the past 50 years were released on the golden jubilee occasion, by chief guest and Mrs Global United Lifetime achiever, Namita Paritosh Kohak and VMM founder Chennupati Vidya, here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Namita said, after fighting cancer, she devoted her life to work selflessly for social causes.

“Be it for cancer patients, children living with down syndrome, poverty, disability, I am always there to extend my support,” she said.

Vidya shared on how VMM had been following the Gandhian principals of Social Justice, Non-Violence and Secularism throughout the journey.

She said that her parents were the inspiration to embark on the journey with VMM.

Her father Gora’s principles of humanism and equality were at the core of the organisation’s work, she added.
