Nellore: Industries minister and district in-charge minister N Amaranatha Reddy said the state government has decided to provide unemployment allowance to 90,000 youth in the district under Yuva Nestam programme.
Addressing the gathering after hoisting National Flag at Police parade grounds on the occasion of the Independence Day celebrations here on Wednesday, he said they had provided skill development training to 49,000 unemployed and avenues to 8,500 youth.
He also said the district had achieved two-digit growth 10.7 pc for last four years and per capita income reached to a high of Rs 1,56,106 during 2017-18. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would attend for ground breaking ceremonies of domestic airport at Dagadarthi and mini fishing harbour at Juvvaladinne.
The minister said the state government had declared 45 mandals as drought-hit this year and they were taking relief measures to support the farming community. He also announced that they would provide input subsidy of Rs 2.07 crore to 2,000 farmers across the district.
He also said sea mouth at Rayadoruvu in Vakadu mandal would be taken up at a cost of Rs 48 crore benefiting 48,000 fishermen population. Amaranatha Reddy said 14 water schemes under NTR Sujala Sravanthi with Rs 49.53 crore would be taken up and tenders would be called for the projects soon.
They had also completed 3 projects with Rs 13.30 crore with support from NABARD, he said and added the state government had taken decision to support aqua farmers providing them power at Rs 2 per unit. He said the civic body had completed 87 per cent of water works and 70 per cent of UGD works in the city.
He said 16 Anna Canteens were sanctioned to the district and so far, they had completed 4 and 12 were yet to be taken up. Stating Rs 370 crore were spent for medical services under NTR Vaidya Seva for 1.15 lakh population, he said they were taking measures to provide land pattas to 99,600 farmers who were members of CJFS lands by October 2 where the societies were abolished.
Proposals for 32 new major industries with Rs 5,292 crore in the district that would provide employment avenues for 18,400 youth were sent to the government, he said and added 23 mega industries were in pipeline with Rs 20,677 crore.
Live marriage on tableau
Some couples in the district have preferred moving tableaus for conducting the marriage ritual in the presence of huge population who attended for witnessing Independence Day fete in Nellore on Wednesday. V Umamaheswari and Chenchaiah preferred to get marry on tableau arranged by the DRDA for publicising Chandranna Pelli Kanuka scheme.
A priest who sat before the couple on the vehicle conducted marriage chanting vedic mantras and they become couple with tying the knot. Minister N Amaranatha Reddy, Collector R Mutyala Raju, SP PHD Ramakrishna and others blessed the newly wed couple.
