MP Maganti Murali Mohan said that a representation was given to Union Minister for Health to set up AYUSH University in Andhra Pradesh for the benefit of the people
Rajamahendravaram: MP Maganti Murali Mohan said that a representation was given to Union Minister for Health to set up AYUSH University in Andhra Pradesh for the benefit of the people.
Speaking to reporters at his office here on Monday, he said the university was aimed at offering courses in Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Sidda and homeopathic medicines. He suggested to the Centre that the university could be set up either in East or West Godavari.
“At present AYUSH is under the purview of Dr NTR Health University, which is concentrating on allopathic courses. AYUSH is getting good response from the people and many people are showing interest to take traditional medicines for permanent cure,” the MP said.
Noted cine producer Allu Aravind and Surekha, wife of actor Chiranjeevi will participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony of new building of Dr Allu Ramalingaiah homeopathy medical college in the first week of September and Chiranjeevi will inaugurate the building. The actor donated an amount of Rs 2 crore for the college from his MP LADS, he said.
Murali Mohan said Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu would be invited for foundation stone laying ceremony for floriculture centre. Letters were given to district administration for execution of works worth Rs 30 crore under MP LADS in Rajamahendravaram Parliamentary constituency.
The amount includes Rs 11 crore of NRGS funds and Rs 1 crore from ONGC CSR fund, he pointed out. After giving the letters, it is the duty of the respective officials to execute the works, he added.
Murali Mohan flayed YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy for making baseless allegations that he had amassed wealth through sand. He also said Rajahmundry urban MLA Akula Satyanarayana made an incorrect statement that no development had taken place in Rajahmundry Lok Sabha constituency.
Earlier, Murali Mohan handed over a cheque for Rs 5 lakh to Malayali Association president and secretary Pali Morali and Johnson asking them to handover the amount to Kerala government towards flood relief. Of this, Rs 3 lakh was given from Ayyappa Annadanam Trust, Rs 1.65 lakh from his salary and Rs 35,000 from like-minded friends, he added.
The Keralites were asking for money and manpower such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters etc, instead of clothes and medicines, he pointed out. Murali Mohan urged the Central government to sanction at least Rs 1,500 crore to Rs 2,000 crore to Kerala State which had suffered severe loss due to floods.
