Guntur: Telangana government will lift Nagarjunsagar reservoir dam gates on September 1 or 2. As soon as water level in the dam will reach full capacity and touch 590 feet. After a gap of four years, dam received full level water.

Sources in the irrigation department informed that they received good inflows compared to last few years due to good rains in the catchment area and floods. Nagarjunasagar reservoir is expected to reach full capacity within one or two days.

At present water level in the Nagarjunasagar reservoir stands at 582.5 feet level on Friday while the capacity of the reservoir is 590 feet level. Nagarjunasagar canals superintending engineer Ch P Ganga Raju said: "Telangana government will lift the Nagarjunasagar dam gates either tomorrow or day after tomorrow”.
