Vijayawada: As many as 49 eve-teasers from various parts of Vijayawada were detained by the sleuths of Mahila Rakshak teams, said Women Police Station ACP VV Naidu here on Monday.
He said that counselling was given to the eve-teasers. The detained people were educated on the consequences of eve-teasing besides creating awareness on POKSO Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and other acts.
He further said that the main idea of conducting counselling was to warn youth against evil things as they would ruin their life and future. Mahila Rakshak teams, Mahila Mithra members, Mahila Mithra coordinators and others were present.
