Nuzvid: The agitation by IIIT teaching and non-teaching employees against the university’s idea of conducting interviews to enhance the salaries of the employees entered third day on Thursday.

The employees showed their discontentment at the Main Gate during the lunch break.

Later, the employees went to I-3 Administrative building in a rally raising slogans like ‘Enhance salary’, ‘Cancel interviews’, ‘We want justice’ and against the adamant attitude of the management of the university.

Addressing the gathering, IIIT Employees State president, YVG Nukeswara Rao stated that the university officials did not find time to wish them on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, but had time to send emails asking to come for interview again.

Dr Seethapathi, president of Nuzvid IIIT Faculty Association threatened that if no action was initiated by the university authorities by September 9, they would intensify their agitation and would not hesitate to quit classes and go for an indefinite strike from September 10.

Assistant professors Dr Lakshmana Rao, Dr B Srinivas, Prabhakar, Dr Rajesh, mentors Dr Saleem Babu, Brahmaswamulu, Lab staff Murali Krishna and Syam Sekhar, Dr Naveen Kumar, Surya from Physical Education Department and other staff participated in this rally.
