Ongole: The common people should be made understand the laws and the legal volunteers help them, said the district judge and chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority, MG Priyadarsini.

She inaugurated the five-day training programme for the paralegal volunteers at the DLSA office here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the inauguration of the programme, Priyadarsini said that paralegal volunteers should help the legal system to eradicate child marriages, work for the welfare of old aged and in spreading and achieving the aims of the National Legal Services Authority in each and every village.

In the orientation class, the DLSA secretary and senior civil judge, T Raja Venkatadri explained about the role of paralegal volunteers in society and their moral behavior.

I Venkateswarlu, an advocate explained about the primary rights and duties and Articles 14, 15, 16, 19, 21 and 22 while the law college professor explained about the Constitution and Preamble.

About 200 teachers from various mandals and another 300 people working voluntarily in various organizations are receiving the training at the programme.
