Visakhapatnam: The chain snatchers struck once again at two places in the city and escaped with around 45 gms of jewellery of women. The two crimes were reportedly committed by two youngsters under Two-Town police station and Kancharapalem police station limits in the city on Thursday.
In the first incident, two bike-borne miscreants snatched a 15 gms chain of a woman teacher when she was heading to the school at Dabagardens.
The rider of bike was wearing a helmet and the pillion covered his face with a cloth to hide their identity. In another incident, 30 gms of gold chain was snatched from K Lakshmi, a housewife, reportedly by the same gang near a temple at Kancharapalem area.
Visiting the crime spots along with the clues team, ADCP (Crimes) V Suresh Babu said they have procured the CCTV footage of two accused escaping from the spot after committing the crime. We are suspecting that a local gang might have been involving in the series of snatchings in the city. We are investigating the case in various angels to identify and nab the accused, he added.
