SRKR Engg College teams win first, third prizes in Fintech fest
Two teams from SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram won the first and third prizes in the College Connect Startup Challenge competitions at the recently concluded Fintech festival at Visakhapatnam, according to college principal Dr G Partha Sarathi Varma
Bhimavaram: Two teams from SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram won the first and third prizes in the College Connect Startup Challenge competitions at the recently concluded Fintech festival at Visakhapatnam, according to college principal Dr G Partha Sarathi Varma.
In a statement on Saturday, he said the two teams received cash awards of Rs 75,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Technology Centre head Dr N Gopalakrishna Murthy said that out of 150 teams participated in the competition, ten teams were shortlisted and three teams from the college were among the top ten teams.
He said the team headed by K Manish, M Rajasekhar, Sai Madhu and V Maheswari won the first place. The team formulated Smart ECG Patch which could be used even in remote areas and sent to doctors for medical aid. Dr Gopalakrishna Murthy was the mentor for team.
Third year mechanical engineering team comprising SSV Saikrishna and T Somesekhar presented Rescue Stick to be used by women for self-defence. Assistant Prof Dr Sitarama Raju was the mentor for this team which secured third place.
College secretary and correspondent Sagi Vithal Ranga Raju congratulated the students and their mentors for their achievements.
