    Chitttoor: MLA D A Satya Prabha says that the role of police personnel is key in eliminating anti-social elements in the district, especially in view of general elections slated for 2019 and they have to plan strategies to maintain law and order.

    By-and-large, the law order (L & O) situation in Chittoor Assembly Constituency during the last four-and -half-years was satisfactory, she said. Satya Prabha has met Chittoor district new SP Vikranthi Patel here on Sunday as a courtesy visit. Both have discussed the issues relating to Chittoor city in respect of traffic and law and order.

    Speaking to media persons, the MLA said that she has explained all the issues to the new SP Vikranthi Patel regarding the developmental schemes. A complete picture of traffic menace of Chittoor city was presented to SP who has been very serious to attend the issue.

    The SP also expressed the need for widening the congested roads in the city in view of increase in population and vehicular traffic “ she added. She reiterated that compensation will be paid to the victims of demolished houses. She expressed confidence that new SP will extend the needful cooperation for sorting out the issues.

    She complimented that previous SPs of Chittoor District like G Srinivas and S V Rajasekhara Babu have done meticulous job in strengthening police department particularly developing community policing officers project. She also reiterated that ruling TDP functionaries would never interfere in the administrative matters of the police department.
