Vijayawada: Poets from 16 various countries including India participated in the two-day Amaravati Poetic Prism 2018 which concluded here on Sunday.

Participants from Albania, Bangladesh, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Jordon, Mauritius, Mongolia, Portugual, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Slovenia, South Korea, Sri Lanka and USA, including India recited their poetry on the occasion, according to Padmaja Iyangar on Sunday.

She said in all 1,111 poems from 107 languages, which include 389 Indian and 278 foreign language poems and 444 English poems were recited. About 150 poets from across the world participated in the event.

On the inaugural day of the poetic prism, Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad said that the poets from various parts of the world were under one roof as a family and it was a happy occasion to welcome the knowledgeable and intellectual persons.

He participated as the chief guest at the inaugural programme of International poetic Anthology ‘Amaravati Poetic Prism’ along with Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad here on Saturday organised by Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA).

The Speaker appreciated the CCVA for organising International Multilingual Poetry Anthology ‘Amaravati Poetic Prism 2018’ crafted by poetry anthology editor Padmaja Iyengar- Paddy, CCVA’s Honorary Literary Advisor and the founder chairman Y Harishchandra Prasad on the occasion.
