Ongole: The Ongole Municipal Corporation presented the Swachhata Awards to the winners in the survey conducted as part of the Swachh Sarvekshan 2019 in Ongole on Tuesday.
The Ongole MLA, Damacharla Janardhana Rao participated in the programme as the chief guest and presented the awards.
The teams deputed by the OMC conducted survey in various institutions, hospitals and apartment complexes along with the schools, colleges and other works places for the last few days and selected the winners.
The teams selected sanitary masons Challa Srinivasulu, Bhupati Venkateswarlu, garbage collectors Kornipati China Yakob, Saripurapu Nageswara Rao, Sadhu Yesu, Kornipati Mohan Rao, Bhaivarapu China Koteswara Rao, Chevuri Chenchamma, loaders Ittarla Venkata Ratnam and Vallepu Narasimham for the Swachhata Awards from the OMC.
The MLA presented first place awards to KIMS Hospital, Gandhi Park, ACB Office, Rajeev Nagar Colony, Ogirala Guptas Pinnacle Apartments, Saibaba Temple at Lawyer Pet, Aanganwadi Playschool at Kondamitta, Raitu Bazaar at Kothapatnam bus stand, Hindu Burial ground at RTC Bus Stand, toilets at Bandlamitta Center, Hotel Sarovar, Municipal High School at Ram Nagar while others received the second and third position awards.
Janardhana Rao also presented awards to the dancers who participated in the Nrityabhinaya dance competition held on November 11 as part of the Swachh Sarvekshan 2019.
In the seniors, the team from Srisai Natya Kalabharathi received the first prize while the team from Dreams High School received the second and Siva Sai Natyalayam, Gayatri Grammar School, PVR Girls High School received consolation prizes.
The teams from Sivasai Natyalayam and Apex Upper Primary School received the first and second prizes in the juniors category.
The Ongole Municcipal Commissioner, Sankranti Venkata Krishna, ACB DSP T Prabhakar and other officials also participated in the programme.
