Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) honoured Prof Allam Appa Rao with honorary doctorate at its second convocation held at NTR Convention Centre in the campus here on Wednesday.
At present, Prof Allam Appa Rao is the chairman of governing board of directors of Indian Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India).
Earlier, he worked as first vice-chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. He is the first person who obtained Ph D in computers from Andhra University. Prof Appa Rao thanked vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu for giving honorary doctorate to him.
