Ongole: K Ramkrishna, secretary of CPI state unit, has said that there are dangerous conditions prevailing in the country and democracy is in danger. He alleged that the rulers have ditched the secular Constitution. At a press meet organised in the party office here on Wednesday, Ramakrishna said that the rulers in the Central government were acting against the spirit of the Constitution written by the Dr Ambedkar and killing the democracy in the country.

He announced that the communist parties across the country were going to conduct various programmes like meetings, rallies and demonstrations on December 6 in the name of ‘Save Democracy’. He said that the State and Central governments had failed in taking up drought mitigation activities, though about drought conditions were in more than 300 mandals in the state.

He said that the chief minister felt that his duty was complete by announcing the drought hit mandals but didn’t followed up for the help from the Central government. He announced that both the communist parties in the state would decide a future course of action in the meeting at Vijayawada on December 7 and might give a call for bandh in drought-hit mandals.
