Visakha gears up for Utsav

Visakhapatnam: HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Friday inaugurated the VMRDA media conference room at VUDA’s 3rd floor and conducted a review meet with tourism, GVMC and VMRDA officials regarding the three-day annual celebrations of ‘Visakha Utsav’ in the city.

The Visakha Utsav will be celebrated on December 28,29 and 30. Addressing the media, Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that around 18 teams were formed with various officials among the district administration and assigned the arrangement duties of Visakha Utsav.

As Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be attending the Utsav, the district officials were chalking out plans to conduct the event in a hassle-free by providing best hospitality to various tourists and others who attends the Utsav.

As many people from rural areas also visit the Utsav, the APSRTC will operate services in late nights for the three days. A flower show will be arranged at City Central park for three days and the city will be decorated with LED lights at every prime junction in the city.

As per the Visakha Puraskhar, the officials were identifying the talents who had excelled in various segments throughout the State wide and it will be finalised soon. The celebrations will be designed in a traditional manner in which local traditional talent will be encouraged along with 18 countries cultural events.

The Visakha Utsav will be conducted with many events from world-wide talents along with exhibition stalls, huge balloons, heli-tourism, film shows, flower show, various sculpture samples of famous temples in AP will be designed on the beach road and many other cultural programmes will be conducted.

A special bumper draw will be drawn among the visitors of Utsav and a car will be distributed as first prize, a two-wheeler will be given as second prize and other consolation prizes also will be given.
