Development on fast track: Chandrababu Naidu

Tirupati: Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking revenge on the State for questioning about its due rights, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked the people to give TDP 25 Lok Sabha seats in the State to continue the development process which is on fast track now.

“Though the State was under severe difficulties post bifurcation, Central government did not come up to give a helping hand. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi has been conspiring against our interests by joining hands with YSRCP and Pawan Kalyan.

We have been striving by launching various initiatives to take the State forward in a big way both on development and welfare fronts which should not be stopped. For this, the people should bless TDP with 25 seats”, he appealed the public at a meeting held in Tirupati on Thursday.

“It was PM Modi who laid foundation stone for Amaravati city. We thought that he will stand by his assurances made in Tirupati before elections to make the capital a la New Delhi, but he disappointed us by going back on his words. To fight for justice and to highlight the injustice done by the Central government, we have started ‘Dharma Porata Deekshas’ and the first such programme was also held in Tirupati”, Naidu recalled.

He reiterated that, to protect our State and to get our rights fulfilled, he has decided to join hands with Congress as support from all parties becomes essential. But, without questioning the PM, YSRCP and Pawan Kalyan have been criticising him and doing harm to the people of the State.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Padipeta Housing Colony at Tirupati rural mandal and also distributed documents to beneficiaries of CJFS lands.
The houses were built under basic services urban poor (BSUP) scheme of JNNURM initiative. Totally 3,216 houses were completed and distributed to the beneficiaries drawn through lucky dip. Tirupati Municipal Corporation has taken Rs.100 cr loans from HUDCO for the purpose.

The construction works were started in 2009, but stopped subsequently due to various reasons in 2011. After bifurcation of the state, in 2015, the government has decided to complete the project and called tenders. Works started in 2016 and construction was completed in 18 months. CM launched a pylon on the occasion and a school building for the benefit of the residents of this colony.

He named the housing colony as ‘Seshadri’. “It’s the dream of everyone to have an own house which the government has decided to fulfil and took up the housing activity on a massive scale. During the last four and half years the government has taken up 30 lakh houses with Rs 84.27 crores and some of them were completed while others were at various stages.

After bifurcation, there was no proper power supply, drinking water, people used to get pensions of Rs.200 only. There were several other problems and I have started solving all of them and succeeded in fulfilling”, he said.

The houses at Padipet have been provided with vitrified tiles, ceramic tiles in bathrooms, black granite top kitchen platforms etc., and all of them were quality houses. Each block has cement roads, LED bulbs, water facility, drains to provide good sanitation.

By 2022, every family should have their own house in the state and these houses will be registered on the names of women in the families. Greenery will be developed at all colonies and if needed compound walls will be built to develop them as gated communities, he said.

Chief Minister also distributed CJFS lands to 4,937 beneficiaries which were under their possession for long. They can now avail bank loans, get input subsidies and become eligible for all government schemes, he said. Minister N Amarnath Reddy, ZP Chairperson S Geervani, MLAs, MLCs, Collector PS Pradyumna and other officials took part.
