Kurnool: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) personnel conducted raids on the properties of Allagadda tahsildar on Thursday following allegations of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income and seized assets worth Rs 1. 65 crore (record value).

Five teams carried out the raids on the premises owned by tahsildar Seshu Phani at Allagadda and Nandyal under the guidance of Kurnool circle DSP C C Jayarama Raju.

ACB DSP Jayarama Raju said in a press release that documents related to four house sites, 1.34 acre agriculture land, one flat, two buildings, Rs 13.15 lakh cash, 260 gram gold ornaments, bank passbooks besides one Indica car and a scooter were seized during the raids. Though the book value of the assets is Rs.1.65 crore, the market value is estimated to be three to four times higher, he said.

“We have seized all the assets and registered a case against Seshu Phani. He has been taken into custody and the Tahsildar would be produced in the ACB court on Friday. Bank accounts are yet to probe, added the DSP, C Jayarama Raju. Circle Inspectors from Kurnool, Nagabhusanam, Rejeshwar Rao, Sreedhar and Pratap Reddy and Chakravarthy from Anantapur have participated in the raides.
