Guntur: District Collector Kona Sasidhar said that the government has given Rs 3,77 crore compensation to the 378 victims under the SC/ST Atrocities Act in 297 cases since 2014.
He addressed district level SC/ST Atrocities Monitoring Committee held in the Collectorate on Thursday.
Speaking on this occasion, he directed the police officials to file charge-sheet within two months in the cases falling under the SC/ST Atrocities Act.
He instructed the officials to see that caste certificates and compensation was paid at earliest to the victims.
Guntur urban SP said that during this year 118 SC/ST Atrocity cases have filed so far.
Guntur rural SP said so far 189 SC/ST Atrocity cases filed so far and said that they will complete the investigation at the earliest.
Joint director of Social Welfare R Mallikarjuna Rao was also present.
