Tirupati: Expressing ruthlessness on the young children studying class III and IV, a teacher made them stand under scorching sun without any cloths on them for a petty reason that they have not completed their homework properly.
The incident took place at Chaitanya Bharathi English Medium School in Punganur in Chittoor district on Wednesday and the video showing the nude children standing outside the classroom went viral on social media on Thursday.
After knowing the incident, the parents staged a protest at the school along with students’ organisations on Thursday. They demanded the authorities to cancel the registration of the school for showing disgraceful attitude on small children. District Collector PS Pradyumna took a serious note of the incident and directed the DEO Dr K Panduranga Swamy to probe it and take action on the culprits.
On the directions of the DEO, the MEO of Punganur Leela Rani conducted the enquiry and lodged a complaint with the police on the school correspondent and the teacher responsible for the act. She sent a detailed report to the DEO on the findings of her enquiry.
The DEO told The Hans India that they were going through the report and will take stringent action on those responsible. Meanwhile, Child Rights activists demanded action on the school management.
