Girl child gets hot iron rod treatment

Salur (Vizianagaram): Still the people living in remote, hill top areas are following superstitions and causing harm their family members. The couple P Narasamma and Srinu belonging to Ubiguddi village in Pachipenta Mandal gave birth to a girl on 25th January at their home. The elders suspected that the baby is suffering from Asthama and wanted to treat with their traditional methods.

They approached a local quack and as per his advice, they burnt the abdomen of the child with a hot iron rod. Due to unbearable pain, the baby cried uncontrollably. Later, they found that the baby was infected with the burning wounds and brought her to community health center at Salur. The children was admitted and is being treated to burn wounds.
