Anantapur: The YSRCP appears to be on a better footing in the Rayalaseema districts and particularly in Anantapur district when compared to a couple of years ago, with the plethora of people connect programmes including the impact of 3,648 km Padayatra by YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy on the party workers and the people with whom he walked and talked in the process of his walkathon.
The Praja Sankalpa Yatra was followed by Ninnu Nammam Babu (We Don’t Trust You Babu), Jagan Anna Pilupu (Jagan Anna is Calling You), and now Samara Shankaravam (Booth-cadre meetings). These multiple campaigns were conceived by the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), the campaign vehicle of YSRCP, which was supporting, and executing all these campaigns.
YSRCP senior leader and former MP Anantha Venkatrami Reddy commenting on the systematic campaigns unleashed by the party stated the ‘Ninnu Nammam Babu’ campaign aimed to provide a platform to the public, for registering their frustration against Chandrababu Naidu and declare ‘no confidence’ in his government.
In order to take the message to as many people as possible, all 175 YSRCP Assembly Constituency Coordinators visited 20 villages each, in fully branded vehicles, and conducted village-level meetings focusing on Chandrababu’s failures. In these meetings, they talked to people about their issues/ grievances and tried to understand their frustration with the current government.
Upon the completion of the meeting, the Assembly Constituency Coordinators with the permission of the residents of the village put up a set of hoardings near the venue of the meetings. These hoardings highlighted the village’s declaration of ‘no confidence’ in Chandrababu. Throughout the duration of this campaign over 6,000 cars with Ninnu Nammam Babu stickers on their rear windowpane were actively roaming all over the State.
Apart from the on-field campaign, I-PAC has also provided a digital platform through the Ninnu Nammam Babu website. The Jagan Anna Pilupu campaign says Uravakonda MLA Y Visweswara Reddy aims to create a network of village-level opinion leaders, who can function as the link between YS Jagan and the people of Andhra Pradesh at the grass-root level.
Over 60,000 plus neutral village-level opinion leaders across the State received personalised letters in the month of January from the YSRCP Chief. These letters addressed to them directly, recognised their specific contributions to society and appreciated them for playing a part in the State’s development.
Through these letters, Jaganmohan also urged upon them to share their inputs and suggestions, which could help him in creating a blueprint for Andhra Pradesh’s future. Reddy will be interacting with these stakeholders in the meetings that will be organised in their districts in the course of his ‘Bus Yatra’. Three such Jagan Anna Pilupu meetings have already taken place in Tirupati, Kadapa, and Anantapur recently.
Samara Shankaravam is a mammoth exercise to create an unparalleled booth-level strength for the YSRCP. The party has formed a network of 5.05 lakh booth-level workers, with 1 convenor and 10 workers at each booth in Andhra Pradesh. Under the banner of Samara Shankaravam (booth-cadre meetings), the YSRCP chief will meet and interact with these booth-level workers in each of the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh, stated former MLA B Gurunath Reddy.
Three such booth-cadre meetings have already taken place in Tirupati, Kadapa, and Anantapur on February 06, 07, and 11 respectively. In each of these meetings, Jagan interacted with over 40,000 booth-level workers in every meeting. This is the first of its kind booth-cadre meeting where a party leader is interacting with party workers on such a large scale.
The YSRCP district president Sankara Narayana told The Hans India that the multiple campaigns were conceptualised and executed by the IPAC and these have ensured that the momentum during this election season stays with YSRCP. He stated that the YSRCP blitzkrieg of campaigns has just started and there is much more in store until the actual election campaign begins.
