Next gen Audi TT launched @ Rs 60.34 lakh
Revolutionising sports cars for Audi, the first generation TT made its debut way back in 1995 and made quite a name for itself globally. Revolutionising sports cars for Audi, the first generation TT made its debut way back in 1995 and made quite a name for itself globally. Having passed two generations since then, the Ingolstadt based automaker unveiled the third-generation 2015 TT last year and the feisty two-door sports car has finally made it to Indian shores, priced at Rs. 60.34 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Part of Audi’s ten new launches planned for 2015, the new TT loses its curves in favour of a sharper design while also taking hints from the first generation model invoking some nostalgia.
The third generation Audi TT is based on the new MQB platform and is 50 kgs lighter than its predecessor. The sports car has grown shorter by 20 mm but the wheelbase has been elongated by 37 mm. The design features a more angular look and an extremely aggressive stance with the one piece hexagonal shaped single-frame grille, large air intakes and sharp headlight equipped with new LED DRLs. The side profile gets the distinctive sloping roofline keeping the TT legacy intact and the rear is similar to the outgoing model but less curvy and features dynamic turn indicators and a retractable spoiler.

Powering the 2015 Audi TT is a 2.0-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder engine producing 230 HP of power and 370 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed dual-clutch S-Tronic automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels via the legendary Quattro (AWD) system and is capable of doing the 0-100 km/hr run in 5.3 seconds with an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/hr. Keeping the sports car sedated at the insatiable speeds is the magnetic ride system for improved control. There are also different driving modes to dabble around with; whereas the more powerful TTS is also available internationally with 310 PS on offer.
On the inside, the 2015 Audi TT gets evolved interior featuring a multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel and the new 12.3-inch TFT virtual cockpit replacing the conventional instrument cluster. The dashboard also gets a clutter free appearance while the jet turbine-like air-con vents look extremely beautiful showcasing the attention to detail. Loaded with features including the latest Audi MMI, the new TT scores 4 stars on the Euro NCAP. Audi India will continue bringing the 2015 TT via the CBU route that will compete against the BMW Z4, Mercedes SLK, Porsche Boxster and the likes in the country. Deliveries for the model will commence immediately.
